WHAT'S YOUR CALL?

Scripture tells us that God knew us even before we were formed in our mother's womb.  In just the same way, God has a plan for each one of us, and has had that plan for all eternity.  That plan is our vocation. Our vocation is the way of life that God has in mind for us, and is the one that will lead to true happiness, and ultimately, eternal joy with God in heaven.

Everyone has a vocation--priesthood, religious life, marraige, or single life. It's up to us to develop a relationship with God, discover what our calling is, and to answer that call with a courageous "Yes", just like all the Saints before us have done.

If you're a Catholic young man, and you feel called to priesthood, don't be afraid to check it out! Talk to your priest, ask questions, do research. Call the Vocations Office and ask for resources.

If you know a Catholic young man who may be called to priesthood, invite him to think about it! So often my brother seminarians tell me that they, just like myself, considered priesthood because someone invited them to do so. Don't be afraid to let God use you as His messenger!
